High Protein Chickpea (Air) Fritters Recipe

Chickpea fritters are crispy, protein-rich snacks that are loved all over the world. Picky-eater approval is guaranteed. The ingredients are basic and available in everybody’s home quite easily. There is no hard-to-find spice that will make or ruin your recipe. It hardly takes more than forty minutes. The main ingredient here is chickpea, a cholesterol-free miracle food for your heart and gut. Unlike their spicier cousin, falafel, chickpea fritters are milder, with Italian seasoning of parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Crispy and mouthwatering, this chickpea snack can be eaten with a salad, before a meal, or whenever you have unbeatable cravings. It’s the tastiest source of vegan protein.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 drained Can of Chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup Buckwheat Flour
  • 1/3 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • Tahini Sauce (for serving)

Prep Instructions

  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas from the can. Set aside.
  • Grate the Parmesan cheese, just enough to fill one-third of a cup. You can also shred it.
  • Cut the parsley into small pieces.

Cooking Instructions

  • Take a large bowl and add all of the ingredients, except the tahini sauce. Mash the ingredients with a fork unless you have a masher.
  • Mix well. If your mixture is rough, add a tablespoon of water to further blend the ingredients.
  • Separate three parts from the mixture. Divide each part into two.
  • Now make patties.
  • Heat the air fryer up to 350 degrees.
  • Fry the patties for fifteen minutes. Make sure not to fry one side for too long. Switch half-way. You will know when they’re ready; they’ll turn golden brown.
  • Place on a plate with a paper towel to reduce excess oil.
  • Serve drizzled with tahini sauce.
