Another benefit is the availability of audio sessions. Not only are they directly integrated into the app, but the sessions themselves are very uplifting.

While there are some pretty big benefits with the Shine app, there are a couple of drawbacks to consider. One drawback is that the app is primarily geared toward women. That’s understandable to an extent, as the self-help and meditation niche is pretty female-driven. But it could be a deal-breaker for some men. Another thing to consider is that, to really take advantage of all the capabilities and benefits that Shine offers, you have to pony up for the premium version.

Bottom Line

Ultimately, this is a great app. It’s well-designed, the audio sessions are particularly good, and it does an excellent job of easing your stress and building mental stability. However, it is geared more for female users than for male users. That may mean that some men feel left out when going through the app. Perhaps the best option is to start with the free, albeit limited, version and then upgrade to the premium app if you decide that you want to access all the features and capabilities.
