When Did Your Personal Journey Into Fitness Begin?
I’ve always had a passion for fitness. In college, I used to run stadiums. When I moved back to Miami, I really loved boot camps. In all honesty, around that time, I just hated the gym! It wasn’t until a friend of mine introduced me to the equipment at the gym that I became more comfortable and started to enjoy it.
Being more comfortable and actually enjoying the gym was a massive turning point for me. A few years ago, I started training with @medalmethod. Since then, I started sharing my workouts with other women to help inspire and motivate them to hit the gym! At the moment, I try to train roughly every other day.
What Advice Would You Give To Someone Just Starting Out In Fitness?
Stay consistent. It may sound simple, but this is definitely the best piece of advice I can give. Set goals and check back in on them regularly to make sure you’re heading in the right direction. Keep track of your progress consistently. I honestly feel as if I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, because I consistently take the steps needed in order to achieve a set goal. Anyone can do this—not just me!
What’s Your Favorite Way To Keep Fit?
Lifting! I don’t really do any other form of exercise. I love it; it makes me feel amazing and see the results that I’m looking for. My go-to spot for lifting is my local gym, Equinox. I know it may sound a bit boring but I’m a creature of habit! I love my workouts with @medalmethod, because he knows how to kick my ass (in the best way possible). Think bodyweight squats, bodyweight lunges, and deadlifts. I also swear by workout bands and waist trainers, and always make sure I have them on me for my workouts.
I try to share as many of my workouts as I can and have detailed booty building workouts on my YouTube channel. For me, keeping fit also means maintaining a healthy diet. What I eat is so important in maintaining and reaching my goals. In addition to a consistent workout routine, I make sure I’m eating a variety of different healthy foods on a daily basis. At the moment, I’m eating a lot of nuts to gain, so I always have them on me.
Do You Follow Any Diet?
I’m currently on a meal plan that delivers food to my door! It makes healthy eating so convenient. As my days are pretty busy, anything that helps save time and is delicious and healthy at the same time is a bonus. But, other than that, I’m mostly pescatarian. For the most part, I do avoid dairy, but I’m not super strict about that. On weekends I’m allowed to cheat! Having a cheat day or meal works really well for me.
What’s Your Go-To Snack After A Workout?
Recently it’s been nuts as I’m gaining. I have them after every workout without fail. I was having ceviche after my workouts but for now, it’s nuts all the way. A handful of almonds or macadamia nuts is a great snack for pre or post-workout. I do like to have shakes every now and then, but it depends on how I’m feeling and when I’m working out.
What’s Your Favorite Activewear Clothing Brand To Wear?
I love Lululemon, especially the Align pants. They have always been one of my favorite brands. The fabric is just really great and so durable. The fit works really well for my body, and I love how I feel in them. I’ve had a few pairs of pants that I have worked out in almost every week for a few years, and they still look good.
How Would You Describe Your Style?
I mainly really wear neutral colors. I consider my style super modern and minimalistic.
