  • hey everybody what is going on it is
  • your boy
  • danny uh here uh very excited to be
  • doing my first episode of
  • off the cuff uh presented by one in one
  • uh this show is going to be honestly
  • just an unapologetic
  • view on mental health uh real stories by
  • real people
  • uh i will be interviewing many many
  • people that i’m excited to interview
  • which we’ll get into later
  • but uh you know there are some things
  • that uh
  • i just wanted to say off the top that uh
  • i want to thank
  • drew and i want to thank corey at 101
  • for giving me this opportunity and
  • giving me a platform to uh
  • tell my story
  • in a unapologetic format and also being
  • able to get the stories of many others
  • that have uh gone through their own
  • mental health journeys
  • so for the first episode you know for
  • those that don’t know
  • i think that i should tell my own story
  • um with mental health
  • so uh let’s get into it shall we right
  • off the top
  • in 2018 i was diagnosed with bipolar
  • type 2
  • um so before that i was also struggling
  • with a lot of anxiety and a lot of
  • very frequent panic attacks that were
  • causing me to have some trouble
  • uh in my everyday life i couldn’t do
  • regular things
  • uh i couldn’t get to the store i
  • couldn’t poop
  • i couldn’t shower i couldn’t live a
  • normal
  • everyday today type of lifestyle
  • and these things kind of caused me to
  • enter a realm
  • of a point of no return honestly where i
  • thought that i would i wasn’t able to
  • uh bring myself out of that and get
  • myself to a
  • an area which i like to call the green
  • area now so i’ll tell you a lot of my
  • excuse me a lot of my mental health uh
  • terminology that i use now
  • but uh my green area is where i’m okay
  • all right my orange area is where i’m
  • starting to feel very anxious
  • uh but nothing too crazy
  • and then my red area is when i’m
  • probably dipping into a manic episode
  • that is uh entertaining let’s say
  • but um you know i just wanted to tell a
  • little bit about myself
  • excuse me i think i’m getting over a
  • cold it’s not covet
  • i’m negative i’m positively negative
  • as our president would say um
  • so yeah so in 2018 i was diagnosed with
  • bipolar type 2
  • and before that i was dealing with a lot
  • of uh depression
  • anxiety uh panic disorder so a lot of
  • things were happening all at once and i
  • didn’t think that i was able to really
  • handle that
  • so i ended up having a semi-nervous uh
  • breakdown
  • which by semi i mean full blown that i
  • actually ended up checking myself into
  • lenox hill hospital
  • new york city went up two on two
  • uh and i spent four days in there
  • and i never really realized how
  • neglected my
  • mental health had been
  • up to that point self neglection there
  • was a lot of things that i had to
  • realize about myself to get myself to a
  • level
  • and address certain things that have
  • happened in my life that i was either
  • afraid to address
  • or i have repressed or i didn’t see
  • myself
  • or see that i needed to worry about
  • these things it kind of got to a point
  • where i had to really
  • hone in on these things and that’s a
  • scary thing to do it’s very scary to
  • hone in on the things that make you the
  • way you are
  • um and to look at them from
  • a different side and say you know what
  • this is something that we need to
  • address this is something that we need
  • to talk about
  • and for me i think the best thing about
  • mental health is
  • i get to know a lot more about myself
  • through other
  • people so when i was developing the show
  • with corey and drew i really told them
  • that hey guys listen
  • i need full reign on this thing i need
  • to be able to be
  • who i am because for the people that are
  • watching me whether it’s from the
  • basement yard
  • or from vine or from you know me singing
  • about
  • uh boobies on the internet you know uh
  • everybody has a different story
  • either the way they found me or the way
  • that they found out uh you know that i’m
  • amazing
  • at uh singing or i’m amazing at uh
  • crying i’m amazing at uh
  • eating food or however you know me from
  • whether it’s still
  • fat uh you know all these things that
  • i’ve
  • created along the way or been a part of
  • the creation along the way
  • i just wanted to say thank you for
  • coming here and i had to tell them
  • listen i need to hone in on this topic
  • they gave me full reign they were like
  • hey listen man we want you to develop a
  • show for us we want you to
  • really be yourself go out of your way
  • uh you know to take control of this
  • thing so
  • you know i want to thank them for that
  • so you know when i started to think
  • about my own mental health journey
  • in the beginning i always thought you
  • know there’s an end to all of it and one
  • day
  • all of these things would be okay and
  • for those that are listening to this now
  • that’s
  • really not the
  • [Music]
  • the truth you know um it’s something
  • that you’re going to have to tackle
  • every day
  • and it’s exhausting you know there’s
  • some days where i’m like jesus
  • christ i can’t do this anymore you know
  • and there have been times where i’ve
  • gotten myself in situations where i just
  • thought that
  • maybe living wasn’t the best option
  • but you know those are things that i’ve
  • had to address and
  • you know going to that hospital uh
  • helped me out a lot
  • it really helped me learn a lot about
  • myself i had to get away from a lot of
  • people
  • uh to find myself and now that you know
  • i’ve
  • gone through these uh different types of
  • therapy
  • which i’ll get into a little bit later
  • um
  • you know it’s really helped me get a
  • grasp on who i am
  • and with this platform i want to talk to
  • and i will be talking to you know
  • professional athletes
  • um comedians uh influencers
  • people that own their own businesses
  • entrepreneurs that’s the big word
  • nowadays
  • i forgot the word uh you know and a
  • bunch of people from all different walks
  • of life
  • all different creeds all different races
  • all different upbringings
  • um and to see
  • you know not so much the dark side
  • of mental health because there is a dark
  • side you know but
  • we have to erase these stigmas that this
  • is the only way that we
  • could talk about this and it has to be
  • in a daunting
  • uh light and express ourselves with you
  • know
  • these these certain stigmas
  • that shine through when it comes to
  • talking about mental health i think a
  • lot of people
  • have a self
  • image issue when it comes to their own
  • mental health and i think i have too
  • you know it’s listen there’s some days
  • where i think i’m the hottest guy on the
  • planet and then there’s some days i look
  • in the mirror and i’m like jesus
  • who is that you know so that’s why i’m
  • i’m stressing it’s a day-to-day thing
  • with me and
  • anyone that’s out there listening right
  • now that struggles with their own
  • mental health issues it’s a battle
  • but it’s a winnable battle you know and
  • there’s levity to some of these
  • situations and
  • there’s a bright side to all things so
  • that’s mainly what i want this show to
  • uh
  • show’s goal to be is that i want people
  • to be able to relate
  • to people who are successful even
  • through their own mental health
  • struggles
  • uh people who are in their own pits
  • right now it’s another term i use pit
  • which is like kind of like your rock
  • bottom but i don’t like to say rock
  • bottom unless i’m giving a rock bottom
  • like the rock
  • you know what i’m saying uh
  • you know and to see where people come
  • from to find
  • that inner light within themselves and
  • that inner fight within themselves
  • to get themselves to a place where i
  • could be successful
  • even though i have these these uh issues
  • and these things that i deal with
  • i don’t let it get in the way of me
  • finding my own happiness
  • um and that’s something that i’ve had to
  • go through
  • and i think a lot of people that will
  • listen to the show will fully get an
  • understanding of what it’s like to
  • understand that you aren’t alone
  • you know many times i get uh
  • dms from fans saying you know you helped
  • me through this
  • uh you helped me through uh this
  • horrible breakup you helped me through
  • my my parents passing away uh you helped
  • me through
  • you know times where i didn’t have any
  • money and i just needed some kind of
  • escape and all that
  • made me realize that i think i have a
  • bigger purpose on this planet and i
  • think that purpose is to
  • bring light to a lot of these situations
  • and have these conversations that some
  • people aren’t having right now
  • but have them like i said before in an
  • unapologetic way
  • really going for it you know letting
  • yourself be
  • who you want to be but who you truly are
  • and that’s
  • okay to know that these things that we
  • deal with mentally
  • make us who we are you know and um
  • there’s things that we could do better
  • in our lives there’s things that we
  • could do more of there’s things that we
  • could do less of
  • but there’s a lot of things that i
  • understand now about myself that i
  • wouldn’t have known if i didn’t address
  • my mental health um
  • so that being said
  • thank you guys for all being here right
  • now um
  • i also have a just a a couple quick
  • announcements
  • uh to show how the show’s gonna go
  • things that will happen throughout the
  • show um
  • we will have guests who are you know
  • like i said entrepreneurs athletes etc
  • influencers etc etc 3d
  • sweetie heart you know but also i wanted
  • to add a twist to this show
  • where i have subscribers to the channel
  • that i will pick uh and have a
  • conversation with them
  • live and make an episode out of it
  • because
  • as much as you know hearing the voices
  • of
  • you know very successful people i want
  • to hear the voice of my people
  • as well i want uh my people
  • you know who have been on this
  • long ass
  • journey with me you know i’ve been
  • creating content for 10 years i think
  • now
  • and people just love me so much and i
  • love you guys so much too and it’s one
  • of those things where
  • i feel like if i could just change one
  • person’s life
  • with this show it’s all worth it
  • all the equipment all the talking all
  • the
  • craziness all the hardships all the
  • stuff that i’ve been through in my life
  • i think
  • it’s time for me to give back and be
  • able to hear your voices
  • as well and you know i want to start the
  • conversation and i want to delete
  • the stigmas of mental health
  • but i also want to talk to the people
  • that deal with deal with us
  • people with mental health issues you
  • know our loved ones
  • our families people that get to see us
  • at our highest of highs and our lowest
  • of lows
  • um
  • at times we could be a lot to deal with
  • um whether it’s our girlfriends or our
  • boyfriend’s husbands
  • wives brothers sisters moms dads
  • dogs uh whatever
  • it has a heartbeat around you and you’re
  • kind of going through it they go through
  • it with you
  • and uh you know i want this to be an
  • educational
  • show as well where you know you could
  • watch this
  • with your partner you can watch this
  • with your family and get to a point
  • where
  • you know i have a hard time
  • voicing this but maybe this guy can help
  • you understand so
  • in no way am i mental health
  • professional as you can read from the
  • disclaimer before
  • but i’m a guy that just deals with some
  • you know what i mean uh just like we all
  • do
  • and i want you to know that i’m here
  • with you
  • i’m rocking with you um i’m fully
  • getting to
  • know myself and i’m fully getting to
  • know myself with you
  • which is awesome you guys get to hold my
  • hand through this process
  • and really you know
  • give me a shot to show you that there
  • are a lot of better days ahead of us
  • but it starts with a conversation it
  • starts with us
  • really telling people how we feel or
  • getting across
  • our points in terms of listen this is
  • what i’m dealing with
  • you know uh different types of
  • uh know treatments
  • that people do uh different types of
  • therapy um
  • i for example uh i use uh uh
  • i’m sorry cognitive behavioral therapy
  • cbt
  • uh not cbd but some people use cbd
  • you know what i’m saying uh you know
  • that’s my main one but i’m
  • also here to learn as well so
  • hearing your stories as well as all
  • these other people who i will have on
  • the show
  • it’s a learning experience and that’s
  • what off the cuff really means to me
  • it’s
  • it’s about being true to ourselves and
  • having that forum where we can have
  • these conversations and not be afraid to
  • say what we want to say
  • um you know
  • i’ve had suicidal thoughts as many
  • people have had
  • you know i’ve thought about giving up
  • before
  • i’ve thought about maybe i’m not gonna
  • make it
  • you know i have body issues
  • you know i have weight issues i have
  • uh all these things that i deal with in
  • a society where
  • everybody portrays this image of
  • themselves as they are
  • perfect and they are locked in and they
  • post the best pictures of themselves
  • they post the most
  • uh flattering image of themselves for
  • the world to portray
  • but on the inside we’re struggling you
  • know
  • we’re we’re hurting and these are things
  • are getting neglected
  • in the way that we that we portray
  • ourselves on the internet and the way
  • that we portray ourselves
  • on a daily basis even just to our peers
  • you know a lot of times when people kill
  • themselves
  • a lot of people say that they were happy
  • a lot of people maybe you see it coming
  • yeah
  • but a lot of people are just like i
  • can’t believe that would happen
  • it’s because the conversations weren’t
  • had that’s
  • uh that’s something that i firmly
  • believe in that the conversations
  • need to be started and they never need
  • to end um
  • that’s why this show is so important to
  • me
  • and i’m really really really looking
  • forward to everybody just coming
  • together as a
  • community i don’t want this to just be a
  • show
  • that i put out every week and people are
  • like yeah i want a community i want to
  • know everybody in the comment section
  • i want to know everybody that’s
  • subscribed i want to know
  • everything about everybody because like
  • i said before
  • i get to know more about myself when i
  • get to know you
  • and i think a lot of people have
  • stuck with me this long because i have
  • been very truthfully honest about
  • my struggles and you know listen i’ve
  • made every mistake that a
  • man can make you know i’ve made every
  • mistake
  • in the book uh you know and these are
  • all things that have helped
  • me get a better grasp on who i am as a
  • person you know
  • there’s no feeling like letting your
  • friends down
  • letting your family down but letting
  • yourself down
  • hurts a lot and i’ve done that from time
  • to time
  • and i’ve been able to climb up out of
  • this
  • hole that uh
  • you know we get ourselves into from time
  • to time
  • anyone that’s watching this first
  • episode
  • needs to know that i am with you 100
  • percent
  • as you are with me right now um
  • we are going to grow this show as big as
  • we can
  • um
  • you know it’s just something that’s
  • really close to my heart and i said i
  • wasn’t gonna cry on the first episode i
  • don’t
  • i’m not gonna cry
  • but i’m close um i just have these
  • visual
  • visualization is it visibility
  • i just have these visualizations uh
  • these these visualization that
  • i know that my true calling in life has
  • always been to help people
  • uh and i’ve put my into a fault at times
  • because i’ve put myself
  • on the back burner for for a lot of
  • people from time to time and then
  • it all catches up with you and you’re
  • like wow there’s a lot of self neglect
  • there
  • there were a lot of things that i could
  • have done better here there were a lot
  • of things that i could have said
  • to myself to get myself through a
  • situation while i’m helping other people
  • the best version of yourself is going to
  • be the best version for other people
  • you know
  • being an influencer
  • means something different to me it’s not
  • about how many followers i have on
  • instagram
  • it’s not about you know how many
  • retweets and i get or
  • how many likes i get it’s all just been
  • about making it’s all just a bin
  • it’s all just been about making people
  • laugh and
  • having people have an escape
  • but now i want to have an escape where
  • we address the things that we’re
  • escaping
  • and running from because
  • in time it catches up with all of us
  • and it gets us to a point where we feel
  • like we might not make it out
  • and that sucks
  • but you’re not gonna go through that
  • alone and neither am i
  • i refuse to um i’ve come way too
  • far in my life to uh get to a
  • point where
  • i can’t be able to uh
  • express myself you know i can’t be able
  • to
  • you know address certain things in my
  • life
  • i still got a whole lot of growing up to
  • do and i’m 31
  • i’m gonna be 32 in january your boys
  • gotta grow up
  • still you know but that’s the beauty of
  • life man
  • you never you never you never stop
  • learning
  • you can never not get a little bit
  • better every day and i know these
  • cliches are corny as but it really
  • is true man i just try to be a little
  • bit better every day
  • you know what i mean and you know
  • why can’t we do that together you know
  • just being able to have this form and
  • this platform
  • and this pillar of you know
  • ah man i’m just thinking about my
  • journey guys sorry
  • but um just being able to have this
  • platform and being able to give back
  • right now is what i really really really
  • feel is the best thing for me to do
  • and you know people have asked you know
  • oh is this show gonna be funny is this
  • show gonna be yes it’s gonna be funny
  • because life is funny you know
  • there’s some dark that happens to
  • all of us and that is funny
  • at times you know you have to be able to
  • look back on things and laugh
  • and be able to give yourself the best
  • you know analysis of yourself but it’s
  • nice to have a chuckle from time to time
  • and like i said on my original off the
  • cuff before i had my nervous breakdown
  • uh i thought people were coming after me
  • and i thought like people uh in my
  • building were like in the mafia or
  • something
  • or like they were like hitmen looking
  • for me i didn’t do anything
  • but i was so up that i had no
  • idea what the hell was going on
  • uh i also was like calling my parents
  • non-stop
  • when i had my nervous breakdown and like
  • i was like
  • sleeping over there all the time but i
  • would sneak out at two o’clock in the
  • morning and go to the emergency room
  • this is a true fact i went to the
  • emergency room 12 nights in a row
  • so embarrassed to go to like the same
  • emergency room i would do like three
  • nights
  • uh at new york presbyterian and then i
  • would do like three nights at uh
  • at lennox hill and then another three
  • nights at like mount sinai
  • so i hit them all you know what i’m
  • saying those bills are pending
  • that that is not junk mail okay
  • um you know and i’ll be honest with you
  • i racked up bills of forty to fifty
  • thousand dollars
  • from all these emergency room trips when
  • i didn’t have insurance
  • uh before i went into inpatient and they
  • got me a uh
  • and they got me a little little rub from
  • the government
  • aka health insurance at a very
  • reasonable price
  • uh you know so then i was able to get
  • the treatment that i needed and
  • you know hearing what works for you guys
  • and what works for my guest
  • and what works for me they’re all gonna
  • be different you know you know there’s
  • the argument of medication
  • not medication meditation a mixture of
  • both
  • exercise these are all things we’re
  • gonna learn about each other along the
  • way
  • and i can’t wait to implement some of
  • the things that you do in my life
  • and what my guests do in my life um
  • and it’s just a really exciting time for
  • me you know uh
  • i’ve been through a lot in the last year
  • people that know me
  • um you know have uh
  • have seen some of the stuff and heard
  • about some of the stuff that i’ve gone
  • through
  • you know and for those people that are
  • here today i just want to thank you
  • for uh sticking with me and seeing the
  • best side of me
  • when times were dark for me and
  • you know giving a
  • that’s like something i’ll never i’ll
  • never forget
  • and uh you know like i said it’s
  • i’ve always felt a strong connection to
  • my fans
  • and then when i came out about my mental
  • health struggles everybody was so
  • supportive
  • and i think it’s just time that i give
  • back and have
  • you guys be a part of this journey as
  • well
  • and this is going to be awesome
  • and having opportunities to speak to so
  • many different people
  • and being able to encourage and being
  • able to help build people up
  • being able to raise money for awareness
  • being able to you know get people
  • talking sometimes it just takes
  • one person to stand up and i have no
  • problem doing that
  • but having you guys stand up with me and
  • walk me through this
  • holding my hand is gonna be nice
  • um and
  • i just wanted to say you know a lot of
  • people that got to know me
  • was from my previous show uh with joe
  • sanogado the basement yard and i want to
  • thank all of you for making your way
  • over here if that’s where you’re making
  • your way from
  • uh i just want to say i want to thank
  • joe
  • for his support throughout the years
  • um joe and i have a
  • relationship that
  • is very
  • very um
  • it’s it’s very brotherly um
  • he taught me a lot about life a lot
  • about handling things
  • and i believe that i did too
  • and you know he gave me an opportunity
  • on a great
  • platform to uh be myself and you know
  • he gave me the ball let me run with it
  • and you know that was
  • the best time of my life honestly in
  • entertainment was doing that
  • and uh you know his support through
  • everything going through
  • to me having my own show now um
  • he’s been great and i just want to thank
  • all of the fans from that show
  • i want to thank joe um and i just want
  • you guys to know
  • that at some point he’ll be on here
  • all right so i’ll have him on here uh
  • you know we’ll have all your little
  • funny
  • quips and stuff but uh it’ll be a
  • different type of twist
  • um i talked to joe every day so you know
  • i’m just trying to answer some of the
  • questions that you guys have probably
  • been you know
  • uh well what you gonna say yeah oh my
  • god
  • you know what i mean joe and i are great
  • man me and joe talk every day uh he just
  • dm me about uh i was doing a departed
  • audition on my
  • instagram uh but yeah man we send each
