Pros

Good for: Really anyone! It’s great because it doesn’t sweat off when you’re working out, but if you’re running around town, you don’t want your makeup to smudge either.
Notable Attributes: Paraben free. Also contains Vitamins C and E, which condition your eyebrows and protect them from free radicals in your sweat.
Pros: The formula is literally smudge-proof. I have worn it while doing sprints at the gym and it never dripped down my face or smudged when I wiped it with a towel. I’ve also never used a blonde brow pomade that matched my hair this perfectly. I have really light hair and eyebrows and needed something just to darken it just a little while maintaining a natural look.

Cons

Cons: You may need a waterproof makeup remover to take it off, as you would with any other sweat-proof make-up.

Bottom Line

Colors: Blonde, brunette, deep brunette
Bottom Line: This is probably my favorite product from the line. I’ve had other brow pomades from the leading cosmetic brands smudge or disappear from my eyebrows. SugarSweat’s pomade always stays in place through the toughest workouts.

Matte Lipsticks

Pros

Matte Lipstick: $16.95
Good for: Long-lasting wear. I’m not sure I’d wear colors this bold in the gym, but this would be great for a fitness photoshoot, an event, or everyday activities.
Notable Attributes: Easy to apply; matte finish with a great pigmentation.
Pros: Creamy texture with a beautiful matte finish. If you try to remove them just with water or water and soap, they won’t come off! The lipsticks also remain perfectly intact even when you’re eating—and that’s a huge benefit!

Cons

Cons: Not sure that you would ever need to wear one of these colors to the gym. The Plum Perfect shade is really hard to get off, even with makeup wipes.
Colors: Plum Perfect and Pink Plush

Bottom Line

Bottom Line: Not sure I would wear these lipsticks to the gym, but you could if you wanted to as they don’t come off easily. The color quality of these lipsticks is really beautiful, and the texture is creamy, not drying. To remove, you will definitely need makeup wipes. Pink Plush comes off pretty easily with the wipes, but Plum Perfect takes a little more finagling.

Glam N Go Kit

Rating: 4 out of 5
Pros

Glam-N-Go Kit: $50
Good For: This product is especially great for gym-goers, since it doesn’t clog your pores and stays looking fresh through the toughest of workouts.
Notable Attributes: Comes in two different varieties for different complexions to make sure you get your perfect glow.
Pros: The kit comes with everything you would need for your touchups. You can easily pack it into any handbag for travel or for touchups (not that you need any touch-ups considering how well this stays put). When I worked out with the blush and bronzer on my skin, I didn’t get any breakouts.

Cons

Cons: It would be nice if there was another shade of bronzer on the palette, for a bit more variety.

Bottom Line

Colors: Comes in two color varieties—one for lighter complexions and one for darker.
Bottom Line: I’m really happy I found this kit. I’ve tried these for every occasion—pool parties out under the hot sun, workouts, fitness shoots, and work. The blushers, bronzer, and eyeshadow all stayed on perfectly for whatever activity I was doing.

Wearing makeup in the gym often gets a bad rap.  Whether people want to say it’s bad for your skin, or simply want to judge you for trying to look good while you sweat, a made-up face endures all kinds of criticism.

To that, I say “do you.” And with specialty fitness makeup lines beginning to emerge, you can also ensure that wearing makeup to the gym won’t clog your pores.  Personally, I’m always running between the gym, fitness shoots, and work meetings. I don’t always have enough time to wipe off all of my makeup between appointments, so I really wanted to find a great sweat-proof cosmetics line that could keep up with my busy lifestyle.

Recently, I came across one of Sugar Sweat Cosmetics’ ads on Instagram with the bold claim “Last Long, Play Strong!” I had to try it.  I also really liked that these products are naturally based and cruelty free.  So I swooped up a few of the products from their line to give them a try.
